SUPER EAGLES midfielder Joe Aribo has been voted the Man of the Match in Southampton’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town in the English Premier League yesterday, according to an official poll on the league’s website.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international gave Southampton the lead in the clash, with his third league goal of the season, while Super Eagles striler Paul Onuachu scored the winning goal.
After votes by fans, the Premier League announced Aribo as the Man of the Match after he polled 36.8 percent to finish ahead of nine other nominees.
The former Rangers star had 80.5 percent pass completion and one successful dribble in an impressive performance.
Liam Delap, who equalised for Ipswich before Onuachu’s winner, was second with 32.4 percent while the Super Eagles striker finished third with 12.8 percent.
Southampton are still stuck in bottom spot in the league, a massive 10 points from safety.
