D’TIGERS of Nigeria defeated Uganda 87-67 on Saturday to secure their second victory in Group B of the second window of the 2025 Men’s AfroBasket qualifying tournament in Tripoli, Libya.
The Nigerian began the tournament with a 75-70 win against hosts Libya on Friday.
D’Tigers relied on a monumental fourth quarter to pull off the victory after trailing for most of the contest.
The win took D’Tigers to second position behind Cape Verde in the standings.
Uganda took the first quarter 16-12 and were ahead 34-28 at half-time.
D’Tigers cut the deficit in the third quarter but Uganda still led 59-55 going into the final period.
The Nigerians then produced a dominant display in the fourth quarter, battering Uganda 32-8 to win the game by a hefty 20-point margin.
Caleb Agada led D’Tigers in scoring with 20 points and 7 assists, with Ike Nwanu contributing 18 points and 7 assists.
D’Tigers will take on Cape Verde in their final Group B fixture on Sunday (today).
