Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the beloved star of The Cosby Show, has tragically passed away at the age of 54.

According to reports from TMZ and the Associated Press, Warner drowned while on vacation in Costa Rica. Authorities confirmed that he lost his life while swimming at Playa Cocles in the Limón province on Monday.

He was reportedly swept away by a strong ocean current between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. local time.

Despite being rescued by beachgoers and receiving immediate medical attention from the Costa Rican Red Cross, Warner was pronounced dead at the scene. The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency issued a statement confirming the tragic incident.

Warner rose to fame as a teenager when The Cosby Show premiered in 1984, portraying Theo Huxtable, the only son of Bill Cosby’s character.

He continued in this role until the show’s successful run ended in 1992. During that time, Warner also made guest appearances on Sesame Street, A Different World, and even hosted Saturday Night Live.
His exceptional performance earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1986.

Known for keeping his personal life private, Warner is survived by his wife and daughter, who was born in 2017. Although he occasionally shared glimpses of them on social media, he kept their identities out of the spotlight.
