SUPER Falcons of Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade and 16 other players are already in the team’s Hilton Hotel camp in Yaounde ahead of two friendly matches against Cameroon.
The friendly matches, in preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, are scheduled for Saturday and next Tuesday.
Both games will be played at the Military Stadium, Yaounde.
The two teams will compete in the 14th WAFCON taking place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
Cup holders and 10-time champions, the Super Falcons will contest in Group C of the tournament alongside Zambia, Egypt and debutants Malawi, with their first match coming up against Malawi on March 18 in Casablanca.
Cameroon, who were rumners-up to Nigeria in 2016, are up against Ghana, Mali and debutants Cape Verde in Group D, with their first match against Mali on March 18 in Fes.
Canada-based midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, who is back with the Super Falcons after a long absence, is also in camp, alongside goalkeepers Comfort Erhabor and Fatima Oloko, defenders Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, Shukurat Oladipo and Kafayat Shittu.
Midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Esther Onyenezide, Precious Christopher and Jennifer Echegini, as well as forwards Gift Monday, Joy Omewa, Favour Nkwocha, Folashade Ijamilusi and Rinsola Babajide are also in Yaounde.
Yesterday, the Super Falcons trained at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadu Ahidjo annex, but will this evening make use of the main stadium (venue of the 1-0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses in the final of the 10th WAFCON in 2016).
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Osinachi Ohale and Michelle Alozie, and forward Chinwendu Ihezuo are expected at the team’s Hilton Hotel after training today.
Mexico-based wing back Chidinma Okeke and midfielder Halimatu Ayinde are being expected in Yaounde tomorrow.
