THE North Central bloc of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, with top party figures across the region pledging full support for his re-election bid.

The decision was reached during the party’s North Central Zonal Congress held in Lafia, where governors, lawmakers, former ministers, and key stakeholders gathered to deliberate on the party’s future.

The congress also produced new zonal executives through a consensus process, which was ratified by voice vote in line with the party’s established procedures.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, who chairs the North Central Governors Forum, backed the endorsement, attributing the region’s support to the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration.

He noted that some governors have been able to execute projects without resorting to borrowing, which he described as a direct outcome of the President’s policies.

Former Senate President George Akume formally moved the motion for Tinubu’s adoption, emphasizing the strategic importance of the North Central region to the party.

He highlighted that the APC currently controls all states in the zone, reinforcing its political strength ahead of the next general elections.

Akume also urged party members to remain proactive and not become complacent, stressing that electoral victory requires sustained effort and unity. He called on stakeholders to work diligently to secure a decisive win in 2027.

In a message delivered on behalf of the party’s national leadership, APC Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda commended the region for its loyalty and described it as a pillar of stability for the party.

He encouraged the newly elected zonal executives to foster inclusiveness and expand the party’s base.

Speaking also, former APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the congress and urged party members to work towards returning all elected officials in the zone under the APC platform in 2027.

Party leaders called for unity and sustained grassroots mobilization, positioning the APC for a strong showing in the upcoming elections.
