RIVERS: Four-storey building under construction collapses in Port Harcourt

A four-storey building under construction has collapsed along the Odili Road area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, triggering an emergency response and rescue operation.

According to eyewitness accounts, the structure believed to be intended for use as either a hotel or commercial complex collapsed this morning, causing widespread alarm among residents and workers in the vicinity.

Emergency responders, supported by local volunteers, have since been working tirelessly to clear the debris and search for individuals who may have been trapped beneath the rubble. As of the time of reporting, no victims had been recovered.

Witnesses stated that the building was at an advanced stage of construction before the sudden collapse.

While the exact cause of the incident has not yet been determined, concerns remain that some persons were inside the structure when it gave way.
