21 Super Eagles assemble in Turkey for Iran, Jordan friendlies

THE Super Eagles of Nigeria have opened camp in Turkey for the friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.

The three-time African champions are due to face Iran in Antalya, Turkey on Friday and take on Jorday next Tuesday in the same city.

Originally scheduled for the 17,000-capacity Amman International Stadium and the 62,000-capacity King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (also in Amman. Jordan), the matches had to be moved to a new venue following the ongoing conflict in the Middle East triggered by the attacks on Iran by the United States of America and Israel.

As at this afternoon, 21 of the 23 Super Eagles players invited for the friendly matches by head coach Eric Chelle are in Turkey.

The first group of players landed in Turkey yesterday, with 15 of them arriving to join the technical staff who were already in the camp.

The 15 players who arrived at the Bellis Deluxe Hotel in Antalya yesterday included Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Alex Iwobi, Emmanuel Oluwasegun, Yira Sor, Paul Onuachu, Philip Otele and Semi Ajayi.

Moses Simon, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, ⁠Bright Osayi-Samuel, Frank Onyeka, Adebayo Adeleye, Samuel Chukwueze and Maduka Okoye also got to the camp yesterday.

Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Raphael Onyedika, Igoh Ogbu and Zaidu joined them today.

The Super Eagles will have their first training session this evening in Antalya.
