United Peoples of Africa celebrates AFRICA DAY, May 25

ON Wednesday May 25, which is globally designated AFRICA DAY, the United Peoples of Africa (UPA), a movement that strives for African unity and global harmony through positive advocacy for justice and truth, will stage a celebration on the theme, Past, Present and Future of The African Continent.

The 15th edition in the series, the event will hold from 4pm to 730pm at Bogobiri House, 9 Maitama Sule Street, Falomo Ikoyi.

According to release from Duro Ikujenyo, the producer, “the 2022 celebration will include Public Discussion by United Peoples of Africa, Culture Advocates Caucus, Committee for Defense of Human Rights; Art Exhibition by Nimbus art Gallery and I-design Art; Film show on the theme, Lagos Fastest Growing City in the World and Future of Planet Earth); poems and spoken word by Sage Hassan; Live Music by Heaven and Earth Reggae Band with guest musicians including Seun Olota. There will also be presentation of a 6-track Album presentation by Duro Ikujenyo and the Age of Aquarius.”

The UPA has celebrated AFRICA DAY in the past 15 years, dotting on different themes relevant to the various issues associated with the advancement of the continent.

“Our aims remain unwavering: the rediscovery and preservation of African civilization for peace and unity, and advancement of education for future generations,” says the musician, activist Ikujenyo.
