THE Confederation of African Football has named Egypt’s Ahmed Nagy Mosa as the centre referee for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash between Nigeria and Uganda.
The encounter is scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, with a spot in the FIFA U-20 World Cup at stake.
Mosa will be supported by fellow Egyptians Mohamed Abouzid Halhal (assistant referee 1) and Yara Atef (assistant referee 2), as well as Libya’s Abdulrazg Ahmed (fourth official).
Justin Mumba from Zambia will be the match commissioner while Rosalie N’dah from the Republic of Benin will serve as the referee assessor, with Namibian Titus Kunamuene the general coordinator.
Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles today stepped up their training ahead of the all-or-nothing clash, which will be at the same venue where they defeated Mozambique 2-0 to ease to the quarter-finals.
Nigeria head coach Ladan Bosso and his assistants supervised the training session at the Tolip El Forsan Resort training ground, with emphasis on tactical and endurance drilling.
A win for the seven-time African champions will take them to the semi-finals of the continental tournament and earn them a ticket to their 13th appearance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, with this year’s tournament scheduled for Indonesia from May 20 to June 11.
