THE Oyo State Government has lifted the curfew earlier imposed on 10 local government areas as part of measures to facilitate the rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers of schools in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, who said the decision followed a review of the security situation in the affected areas.
“The Oyo State Government has lifted the curfew imposed on 10 local government areas following the recent kidnapping incident in Oriire. Residents can now resume their normal activities,” the statement read.
Oyelade, however, assured residents that the state government would continue to monitor developments closely and work with security agencies to ensure lasting peace and safety.
