Peter Olayinka has formally sealed his switch from Czech Republic side Slavia Prague to Serbia’s Red Star Belgrade.

The Super Eagles forward agreed to join the Serbian Super Liga champions in January and has now completed the three-year move, with an option for an additional year, after five trophy-laden years in the Czech Republic.

He was presented today by his new club after all formal contract papers were signed and given the No.14 jersey.

The 27-year-old Nigeria international has joined on a free transfer as his Slavia Prague contract is due to end on Friday.

“Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) is happy to announce the news that striker Peter Olayinka has signed a preliminary contract with our club and will officially join us on July 1, 2023, as a free agent,” the club had announced on their official website in January.

“He signed a contract with our club until the summer of 2026 with the possibility of extending the co-operation for another year.”

Olayinka joined Slavia Prague in July 2018 for €3.2m from Belgium side KAA Gent, making 183 appearances in all competitions and registering 50 goals and 26 assists.

He won three Czech Republic top flight titles with the club in 2019, 2020 and 2021 as well as the Czech Cup in 2019, 2021 and 2023.

Olayinka, who is adept as a wide forward, second striker or main striker, has made four appearances for the Super Eagles.
