Three Bundesliga clubs interested in Onuachu, Eagles star to take pay cut

SUPER Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is wanted in Germany by at least three clubs in the German Bundesliga, according to reports.

The towering Nigeria international is currently with Southampton, but it is believed that he will leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.

The 28-year-old was recently linked with a return to Genk, the Belgian Pro League club he left to join Southampton in January.

But after a frustrating spell in the Premier League in which he failed to score in 12 matches, only four of them starts, Onuachu is attracting interest from Germany.

Augsburg and Stuttgart have reportedly reached out to Onuachu’s representatives with offers for a permanent move or loan deal.

Borussia Monchengladbach are also said to be keenly interested and are expected to make a firm bid in the coming days.

However, Onuachu will have to agree terms on reduced wages if he is to join any of these clubs, as his Southampton pay is believed to be beyond their reach.

The 2021 Ebony Shoe winner for the best African player in the Belgian Pro League is back in training with Southampton as they prepare for life in the English second tier.
