SAMUEL Chukwueze has said Victor Osimhen played a big part in his move to AC Milan.
The Super Eagles wide forward completed his €28m transfer from Villarreal to AC Milan yesterday, signing a five-year deal.
Chukwueze and Osimhen played together for Nigeria at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, which they won.
Osimhen scored 10 goals then, the most my any player at a single edition of the tournament in history, as the Golden Eaglets won their fifth title.
Chukwueze also shone at the tournament and both players progressed through to the Super Eagles.
Osimhen has been in Italy for three years, joining Napoli in 2020 and helping them to their first Scudetto in 33 years last season with his 26 Serie A goals.
After sealing his move to AC Milan, Chukwueze admitted that Osimhen played a big role in the transfer.
He told Milan TV: “I’m here thanks to the affection of the fans and thanks to Osimhen, he told me: ‘Milan is a beautiful club, one of the best clubs, don’t hesitate to sign with them. They’re fantastic, they have wonderful fans.'”
