NAPOLI owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is confident Victor Osimhen will not leave the club during this summer transfer window.
The Super Eagles striker is being courted by big European clubs and Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Hilal, who have reportedly offered him over €40m annually.
De Laurentiis is however not bothered by the attention on his prized asset, insisting that the Nigeria international is not going anywhere.
“Osimhen is staying, he has another two years of contract, where else does he go?” De Laurentiis told Sky Sports Italia in Naples today after completing the signing of midfielder Jens Cajuste from Stade de Reims.
“We have contracts, and they must always be respected by both parties because it’s a two-way relationship.
“As long as there is transparency, then yes, we always get on well and with Osimhen there is transparency in every instance. Stay calm.”
Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in September 2020 in an €80m deal and signed a five-year contract that will expire in 2025.
Reports in Italy have claimed that the striker and the club have been negotiating a contract extension for days, with both parties confident they will soon reach an agreement.
Osimhen, 24, had a remarkable campaign last season in which Napoli were crowned Serie A champions for the first time in 33 years.
He scored 26 goals in the league and won the Golden Boot and the Serie A Best Striker award.
