VICTOR Boniface has called on Nigerians to give the Super Eagles their full backing today when they take on Lesotho in the opening fixture of their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker is one of the 23 Super Eagles players in Uyo preparing for the match, which will kick off at 5pm today at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
“We can’t wait to see the fans at the stadium. We need your support,” Boniface said after the team’s final training session.
Boniface, who has been in impressive form at German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen this season, is one of the options to replace the injured Victor Osimhen in the Super Eagles attack.
The 22-year-old says he is up to the challenge, along with his colleagues.
“I’m ready, and we’re focused as a team. We see what happens during the game,” he noted.
“We’ve trained really well and every player is focused on the game.
“I’ll try and do my best, give 100 percent. For sure we’ll try to win the game, it’s the most important thing.”
