LAZIO have confirmed that Maurizio Sarri has resigned as the club’s manager following rumours yesterday.

The Serie A club announced today that the former Chelsea boss has resigned, with one year left on his current contract.

Sarri resigned as on Tuesday following a run of four consecutive defeats and it is believed that he was no longer on good terms with Lazio President Claudio Lotito and some of the players.

Lazio confirmed Sarri’s resignation today, announcing that his assistant Giovanni Martusciello would remain as an interim coach.

Several coaches, including Igor Tudor, Raffaele Palladino and ex-Lazio striker Miroslav Klose, have been linked with the job.

Klose and Tudor are currently without a club, while Palladino is under contract with Serie A side Monza.

Sarri, who also worked previously worked with Napoli and Juventus, was appointed at Lazio in 2021 and won 65 of 137 games at the Stadio Olimpico.
