ANDRE Ayew and his brother Jordan Ayew are among the 23 players in the Black Stars of Ghana camp in Marrakech, Morocco for the friendly matches against the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Uganda.
The 23 Black Stars trained at the Marrakech Sports City facility yesterday as part of the build-up to the friendly games.
Otto Addo’s side have been in Morocco since Monday shaping up for the two games: they face eternal rivals Nigeria tomorrow and Uganda on Tuesday, with both games scheduled for Marrakech.
Ghana opened camp with 13 players before the rest of the squad arrived on Tuesday evening.
According to the Ghana Football Association, the players look well-conditioned and ready to fight for places in the team as the Black Stars begin a new era under coach Otto Addo.
The new Black Stars head coach, who is in his second spell, will use the two friendly games to assess his team for the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
Apart from the Ayew brothers, the other players in the Ghana camp include Osman Bukari, Edmund Addo, Jerome Opoku, Forson Amankwaah, Ebenezer Annan, Baba Iddrisu, Francis Abu, Tariq Lamptey and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
The rest are Kasim Nuhu, Antoine Semenyo, Abdul Samed Salis, Patrick Kpozo, Alidu Seidu, Joseph Wollacott, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Denis Odoi, Ernest Nuamah, Osman Ibrahim, Abdulai Nurudeen and Frederick Asare.
The likes of West Ham star Mohammed Kudus and Arsenal’s Thomas Partey are missing due to fitness concerns.
The first game against the Super Eagles will be played at the Grande de Stade Marrakech tomorrow.
Addo will be looking to inflict pain on the Super Eagles again after coaching the Black Stars to beat the Nigerians on the away goals difference in the play-offs for a Qatar 2022 World Cup ticket during his first spell.
