KASTINA: Passengers abducted as bandits intercept transport authority vehicle

SEVERAL passengers were reportedly abducted during a daytime attack carried out by bandits in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident took place today when the criminals stopped a bus belonging to the Katsina State Transport Authority, which was traveling from Funtua LGA to Katsina LGA.

According to an eyewitness, the abduction occurred between the Burdugau and Yargoje communities before reaching Kankara town.

While authorities have not yet commented on the situation, the eyewitness mentioned that Kankara is known for being vulnerable to bandit attacks, causing fear among both residents and travelers.

Katsina State, located in the North-West region of Nigeria, has been heavily affected by banditry.
