JUVENTUS and AC Milan, the club of Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze, are on the verge of appointing new managers.
The two Italian giants sacked their head coaches last week as the season wound down, with Juventus firing Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan getting rid of Stefano Pioli after disappointing campaigns.
Both clubs ended the season trophyless as Milan finished second in Serie A, 19 points behind city rivals Inter, and Juventus in third spot.
According to European transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have concluded negotiations with Bologna coach Thiago Motta to take over from Allegri.
Former Brazil international and Inter Milan midfielder Motta has had an excellent campaign with modest Bologna, leading them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League with a fifth-place finish in Serie A.
The 41-year-old has reportedly agreed a three-year deal with Juventus and is set to sign the contract and be formally presented.
As for Milan, Chukwueze will be playing his second season at San Siro under the guidance of Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca.
Reports say the 51-year-old Lille coach is close to a sealing a two-year deal to join AC Milan, with his net salary per season set to be €2.5m.
According to Romano, there is an option to extend Fonseca’s stay beyond two years, which would come with a salary increase.
