RIVERS Angels and Naija Ratels of Abuja have advanced to the semi-finals of this year’s President Federation Cup after victories over Osun Babes and FC Robo Queens yesterday.
Remo Stars Ladies and Delta Queens are also in the final four of the competition after securing quarter-final victories.
In the quarter-finals, multiple-times winners Rivers Angels trounced Osun Babes 5-0 in Enugu while Naija Ratels needed a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Robo Queens after full-time ended 1-1.
Delta Queens also reached the semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over Sunshine Queens of Akure at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Also in Benin City, newcomers Remo Stars Ladies continued their fairytale run in this year’s competition with a 3-2 penalty shootout win over Nasarawa Amazons, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
In the semi-finals, Delta Queens will battle Rivers Angels, with Remo Stars and Naija Ratels fighting for the other final spot.
Meanwhile, the finalists will emerge in the men’s competition today, with Abia Warriors up against Kano Pillars at the Lafia City Stadium, and Kebbi United facing El-Kanemi Warriors at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project in Abuja. Both games will commence at 4pm.
