Actress Folorunsho Adeola, also known as Arike Gold, recently shared her thoughts on loyalty in friendships, stating that she has outgrown relationships based on convenience.

In a recent interview, the actress and event planner said, “One major lesson I’ve learned about loyalty in friendships as I’ve grown older is that it isn’t just about who has been present the longest; it’s about who is genuine, consistent, and there when it truly matters. I have outgrown friendships that were merely based on convenience rather than true connection. Now, I prioritize quality over quantity. I also believe in understanding your limits in friendships. Friendship shouldn’t be overly complicated. Sometimes, we tend to seek out what isn’t lost. Know your place and your role; don’t force things. Having a genuine heart and genuinely wishing well for your friends helps make friendships last longer.”

When asked about a role that profoundly changed her, Gold remarked, “One of the most defining roles I’ve ever played wasn’t in front of a camera or on a stage; it was the role of a survivor. There was a time in my life when everything felt like it was falling apart, and I considered giving up. However, something inside me refused to let go. Choosing to live, to keep pushing forward, and to believe that tomorrow could be better fundamentally changed me. It taught me resilience, gratitude, and how to find light even in the darkest moments. It’s a role I never auditioned for, but it provided me with a strength no script could ever convey.”
