The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has lifted the indefinite suspension of actress Halima Abubakar, allowing her to work and participate in guild activities after more than a year away from the industry. This decision comes despite the fact that Halima has not acted in any movies for quite some time.

Outgoing AGN president Emeka Rollas made this announcement before passing the leadership to Abubakar Yakubu, the new president of the guild. He explained that the decision was motivated by a desire to ensure that no members are left suspended at the time of the leadership transition and out of concern for Halima’s livelihood.

Rollas lifted the suspension using the authority granted to him by the Board of Trustees.

He stated, “Halima Abubakar took AGN to court, claiming a frivolous amount of money. After our investigations, we decided to suspend her from all acting and AGN activities. However, since acting is her primary source of income, it would be unfair for us to leave her in that position. Therefore, today, by the powers vested in me by the Board of Trustees and the entire Actors Guild of Nigeria, I hereby lift Halima Abubakar’s suspension.”
