Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has addressed rumours linking him romantically with actress and reality television star BamBam Adenibuyan, following speculation that their on-screen chemistry had affected her marriage.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe clarified that the film they featured in together marked the first time he had ever met the actress.
According to him, he was careful to maintain professionalism during filming and sought her consent before performing any physical scenes.
“Before I touched her, I asked if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home,” he explained.
Arukwe said the question was asked out of respect for her marriage and to ensure that nothing done during the production would create tension in her home.
However, shortly after the movie was released, rumours began circulating on social media suggesting that the two actors were romantically involved.
“The movie was the first time I met her, yet people began claiming we were dating and had slept together. That is completely false,” he said.
The actor emphasised that the allegations are unfounded, noting that the speculation appears to have gained traction online largely because Bambam is married. He maintained that their relationship was strictly professional and limited to their roles in the film.
