THE Governor of BAUCHI state, Bala Mohammed has revealed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may become his new political platform, raising speculation about his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking today in Bauchi after meeting with an ADC delegation led by Babachir David Lawal, the governor said attempts to resolve internal issues within the PDP had failed.

He explained that after broad consultations, the ADC emerged as the party that best aligns with his political goals and those of his supporters.

Mohammed noted that while other options, including the APC, were considered, he and his allies concluded they could not remain in a party where they feel unwelcome, stressing the need to strengthen the opposition.

He described the ADC as a stable and widely accepted platform, adding that ongoing consultations across political groups have delayed a final decision.

The governor revealed that a formal announcement on his defection would be made soon, as discussions are still underway to finalize the terms of the move.

Meanwhile, Lawal cautioned that Nigeria’s future could be at risk if the ruling party remains in power in 2027.

He also disclosed efforts to unite opposition forces under the leadership of David Mark, emphasizing the importance of collaboration ahead of the elections.
