THE governor of Anambra state, Chukwuma Soludo, has forwarded the first batch of commissioner nominees to the Anambra State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Franklin Osankwa, Special Adviser on New Media to the Speaker of the Assembly.
According to the statement, the nominees were presented during plenary and officially received by the Speaker, Somtochukwu Udeze, who subsequently directed the list to the Committee on Screening and Election Matters for further legislative consideration.
The nominees list consists of 18 individuals, including 17 men and one woman, each assigned to specific ministries such as Agriculture, Finance, Health, Education, Works, and Women Affairs, among others.
The House of Assembly is expected to begin the screening exercise immediately, after which the confirmation process will follow.
