THE Super Falcons of Nigeria are the next opponents of Comoros in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics women’s football event qualifiers after the small island nation thrashed Sudan a record 30-0 on aggregate.

Comoros won the first leg of the first qualifying round tie 17-0 last Wednesday and completed the unprecedented rout last night with a 13-0 win.

In the first leg, nine different players were on target, and in the reverse fixture, Comoros scored three goals in the first half and added 10 more after the break.

Despite the 30-0 aggregate win over Sudan, Comoros will still be considered as underdogs against the Super Falcons, the highest-ranked African team in the FIFA ranking and the continent’s most successful women’s football national team.

In their most recent matches, the Super Falcons defeated Senegal 2-1 and 3-0 respectively in friendlies in Ikenne-Remo to prepare for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

While Comoros have never qualified for WAFCON, the Super Falcons have won the tournament a record 10 times, including the last edition in Morocco.

The second qualifying round for the Olympics are scheduled for between October 5 and October 13.

Comoros have also never qualified for the Olympics, while the Super Falcons have featured in the women’s football tournament multiple times.
