The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the murder of a former broadcaster with the Ogun State-owned television station (OGTV), Ms Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard at her residence in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.
Parading the suspects at the state police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said the principal suspect allegedly confessed that Oyesiku and her guard were killed to “teach her a lesson” over poor remuneration.
He said the arrests were made possible through intelligence gathering and technical tracking.
Police said a broken hammer, a cutlass, a plank, and a black pen were recovered as exhibits.
Ojajuni said the investigation was ongoing and that the suspects would be charged in court.
Oyesiku and her guard were found dead at her residence in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. Oyesiku was found lying in a pool of blood in her living room, while her guard was discovered inside the security house.
The police commissioner said a report was received at Owode-Egba Police Station on June 21, 2026, at about 4pm, regarding suspicious circumstances at Oyesiku’s residence.
“Preliminary information indicated that the front door of the residence had been partially damaged while the security house within the compound was found locked, prompting immediate police intervention,” he said.
