THE Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya has approved the appointment of 10 Special Advisers and two Deputy Chiefs of Staff in a move aimed at strengthening governance, improving policy coordination and enhancing service delivery across the state.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued today by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.
According to the statement, the appointments took effect from May 1, 2026, and are intended to reinforce the administration’s governance framework while fostering stronger collaboration between government institutions and local communities.
The statement noted that the appointments align with Governor Yahaya’s commitment to consolidating the achievements of his administration by expanding strategic advisory roles and improving coordination across various sectors.
The newly appointed Special Advisers include Ahmed Abubakar (Maidalan Gombe) for Chieftaincy Affairs; Abdulrahman Adamu (ES) for Inter-Party Relations; Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho for Education; Saidu Kawuwa Malala for Political and Community Relations (North); Adamu Mohammed Waziri for Special Duties; Mohammed Shettima Gadam for Political and Community Engagement; Abubakar Hassan Difa for Rural Development and Community Relations; Iliya Suleiman for Youth Engagement; Lamido Buba Komfulata for Political Affairs; and Asma’u Mohammed Iganus for Women Mobilisation.
In addition, Mohammed Adamu was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for the Central zone, while Isiyaka Shu’aibu was named Deputy Chief of Staff for the Southern zone.
The government expressed confidence that the new appointees would leverage their experience and expertise to advance the administration’s development agenda, strengthen policy implementation and improve governance across the state.
The appointments are expected to enhance political engagement, deepen community outreach and support the effective execution of government programmes throughout Gombe State.
