Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and content creator Kiitan Bukola, whose real name is Oloruntimilehin Bosede Bukola, is challenging stereotypes with her latest film, God Fearing Baddie. She insists that faith and a fashionable lifestyle are not mutually exclusive.
Through her new project, she hopes to spark conversations about the misconceptions people often hold regarding outward appearances.
“I’m a prayer warrior; I pray a lot. But some people who don’t know me don’t understand who I am. Sometimes, once a week, I fast and pray alone. I don’t need anyone to tell me. But if you see me outside, you might think I’m just a regular baddie. I wanted to create a story that reminds people that being close to God isn’t about appearances. It’s about having a pure heart and being sincere in your walk with Him,” she said in a recent interview.
Bukola, known for her versatility in seamlessly featuring in both Yoruba and English-language productions, also credits prayer as one of her greatest motivating factors behind her success in the entertainment industry.
“Prayer has helped me tremendously. It has helped me grow in my career, and I believe God has been faithful to me,” she said.
Encouraging viewers to watch God Fearing Baddie, the actress described the film as one that reflects realities many families can relate to, while highlighting the dangers of judging people based on appearances.
“This is a story many people will connect with because every family has someone who is misunderstood. Just because someone looks like a ‘baddie’ doesn’t mean they are a bad person. People need to learn to respect others and avoid making assumptions,” she added.
