Fani-Kayode describes ambassadorial appointment as a divine opportunity to serve Nigeria again

THE Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has officially received his Letters of Credence, clearing the way for him to begin his diplomatic assignment as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Lesotho, and Eswatini.

Sharing the development on his verified X account today, Fani-Kayode expressed gratitude for the appointment, revealing that he received the documents after securing the required diplomatic agreément from the host countries.

According to him, the presentation of the Letters of Credence by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, marks the beginning of his mission.

He said he will now proceed to Pretoria, where he will formally present his credentials to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa before commencing his responsibilities as Nigeria’s representative to the three Southern African nations.

Fani-Kayode, who served as Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation two decades ago, described the new role as another opportunity to contribute to national service.

He thanked God for the appointment and expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him, while requesting the prayers and support of Nigerians.

The former minister added that he remains optimistic about the task ahead, saying he believes God will guide him as he undertakes his diplomatic responsibilities.
