THE Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the release of the names of 50,000 successful candidates recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables following the completion of the nationwide recruitment exercise.

The announcement was made in a statement issued today by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Kalu.

According to the PSC, the recruitment process was carried out in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, state career and counselling departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee. The Commission described the exercise as transparent, inclusive, fair, and comprehensive.

Candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination have been advised to check their recruitment status on the official recruitment portal. The portal will become accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The Commission also disclosed that successful applicants would receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during the application process.

Successful candidates are expected to report to their assigned Police Training Institutions on dates that will be communicated later for medical examinations and documentation.

The PSC warned that anyone who fails to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer.

It further stated that candidates who fail the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption would be disqualified from the training programme.

Applicants are required to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original and photocopies of their academic credentials, along with other documents and items specified on the recruitment portal.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, noting that the exercise is aimed at strengthening the nation’s security architecture.

Argungu also urged the newly recruited officers to approach their duties with professionalism, integrity, and dedication, describing the opportunity as a call to serve Nigeria with honour and commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
