CRISTIANO Ronaldo has claimed that he has achieved everything there is to achieve in European football and is looking forward to his new adventure in Saudi Arabia.
The Portugal captain was presented to Al Nassr fans today after completing his mind-blowing €200 million per annum switch to the Saudi Professional League club.
He joined on a two-year contract as a free agent after his acrimonious departure from Manchester United in November following the explosive interview he granted to Piers Morgan.
“My work in Europe is done. I played at the best clubs in the world… and I won everything. I’m happy, proud to join Al Nassr,” Ronaldo said during the press conference just before he was presented to the 25,000 fans that filled Al Nassr’s home stadium to its full capacity.
“People don’t know about the level here. This contract is unique because I am a unique player. It’s normal for me.”
Having played for European giants Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus and won five UEFA Champions League and several domestic titles, Ronaldo insists his career has not reached its end point with the Saudi move.
“It’s not the end of my career in Saudi Arabia. Many people speak… but they know nothing about football. I know here the league is very competitive,” he added.
“I don’t care about people saying things about this choice. I took my decision, I am happy.”
Ronaldo also claimed that he rejected offers from clubs across Europe and South America to sign the mega Al Nassr deal.
“I can say now that many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, in Australia, USA and even in Portugal many clubs tried to sign me,” he noted.
“I gave my word to this club; only to Al Nassr.”
