NIGERIAN sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan continued her impressive start to the outdoor athletics season with victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League today.
The world record holder swept past a strong field to win the race in 12.28 seconds, her season’s best timing.
It is the third time in 2026 that Amusan would be clocking 12.28s, as she finished in Paris ahead of Grace Stark, who was second in 12.38s, and Alaysha Johnson, third in 12.39s.
Both Stark and Johnson also clocked their season’s best times, just like fourth-placed Nadine Visser (12.41s) and Pia Skrzyszowska (12.46s), in one of the fastest races of the year.
Amusan’s 12.28s is the second fastest in the world this year, behind only Masai Russell’s 12.14s.
The 29-year-old Amusan set a new world record of 12.12s at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, the United States of America in 2022.
