SUPER Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has recalled Kasimpasa centre-back Kenneth Omeruo and Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi to the squad for the friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

Nice forward Terem Moffi and Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel have also been brought back for the games scheduled for this month’s FIFA international window.

All four players were missing from the team that thrashed Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo in September.

The Super Eagles take on the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia Portimão, Portugal on Friday, October 23 from 5pm before facing the Mambas of Mozambique in the same city three days later.

Midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru of Hatayspor of Turkey has also been included for the first time, with Jordan Torunarigha also invited after being called up for the Sao Tome match in which he did not feature.

Goalkeeping trio Francis Uzoho, Adebayo Adeleye and Olorunleke Ojo retain their spots in the squad of 25.

Wilfred Ndidi, who captained the team against Sao Tome and Principe, as well regular faces like Victor Osimhen, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi and Kelechi Iheanacho have also been invited.

The Nigeria Football Federation says the players are all expected to arrive in Faro, Portugal on Tuesday next week.

Both friendlies have been arranged as tune-up games for the Super Eagles ahead of the kick-off of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, in which the three-time African champions host Lesotho in Uyo on November 17 before travelling away to play Zimbabwe four days later.
