Omo Ghetto becomes highest-grossing Nollywood movie

2020 comedy movie, Omo Ghetto (The Saga) has become the highest grossing Nollywood movie, breaking the four-year box office record held by The Wedding Party, Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 movie. It was released on December 25, 2020 as a sequel to Omo Ghetto, which was released in 2010.

The movie was produced by Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz and featured Akindele who played a dual role; Tina Mba; Adebayo Salami; Chioma Akpotha; Bimbo Thomas; Eniola Badmus; Deyemi Okanlawon; Zubby Michael; Mercy Aigbe; Timini Egbuson and, Alex Ekubo.

Funke Akindele-Bello has been trending on Twitter Nigeria as congratulations are pouring in for this feat.

According to a statement by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) on Tuesday, January 26, the flick grossed N468,036,300 after maintaining the number one spot for three weeks.
