COMMISSIONER for Information and Strategy, Mohammed Idris, who was abducted on Sunday night, has been released.

Idris regained his freedom last night, five days after he was taken captive.

It was gathered that he was immediately rushed to Suleja General Hospital for medical examination.

It was not immediately clear if ransom was paid to secure his release.

It was learnt that the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly Abdullahi Wuse and the chairman of Tafa Local Government Area Namu Tafa were in the forefront of ensuring the release of the commissioner.
