THE Super Eagles camp in the United States of America grew to 13 players today, with Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong and Moses Simon among the players in town, with new Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro also around.

The three-time African champions are due to face Mexico and Ecuador in two friendly matches in the coming days as those countries begin their preparations for the Qatar 2022 World Cup billed for November and December.

The Super Eagles play Mexico on Saturday in Texas before battling Ecuador on June 2 in New Jersey.

Apart from Everton’s Iwobi, Watford’s Troost-Ekong and Simon of Nantes, there are two other Europe-based players also in camp.

They are Torino full-back Ola Aina and West Brom centre-back Semi Ajayi, with others being expected later today.

The rest of the players currently in camp are all home-based, including Enyimba striker Victor Mbaoma, Rivers United striker Ishaq Rafiu and Katsina United’s Faisal Sanni.

Peseiro, who confirmed his appointment with the Super Eagles yesterday, met with his new backroom staff, led by first assistant coach and ex-international Finidi George.

He will then take charge of the side in the AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone at home on June 9 and away to Mauritius on June 13.
