AC Milan are keen to bolter their midfield with Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, according to reports in Italy.
The Serie A champions lost Cote d’Ivoire star Franck Kessie to Barcelona on a free transfer this summer and are looking to replace him before the window shuts at the end of August.
Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported last night that Milan have identified Onyedika as the ideal player to replace Kessie and they have made an offer to Danish club FC Midtjylland for the Nigerian.
Milan have made a bid of €4 million plus bonus to FC Midtjylland but the report says the Danes are asking for at least €10 million.
The Italian champions are expected to make an improved offer for the 21-year-old but hope Midtjylland also consider a fee lower than €10m.
Onyedika began his career at FC Ebedei in Nigeria before joining FC Midtjylland U-19s in 2019.
He was promoted to the senior squad in 2020 and has made 56 appearances for the club in all competitions, including the Danish Supaligaen, scoring four goals and making three assists.
