The Super Eagles have retained their previous position in the latest FIFA ranking released today.

The three-time African champions are still 31st in the world, the same spot they were in at the last ranking in June.

They also remain fourth in Africa behind Senegal (18th in the world), Morocco (23rd in the world) and Tunisia (30th in the world).

Indeed there are very few changes across the table for this month as there has not been much international football since the last ranking in June.

Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group opponents Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau and Sao Tome and Principe remain 113th, 115th and 187th in the world respectively.

Cape Verde dropped one spot to 73rd in the world and 14th in Africa in one of the few changes in the ranking.

Mauritania also moved up three spots to 107th, just like Botswana who rose three places to 146th, making the African teams the most improved in the ranking.

The top 10 in the world are unchanged, with Brazil at the summit, followed by Belgium, Argentina, France and England.

Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal and Denmark complete the top 10.
