England and Italy have been placed in the same group for the 2024 European Championship qualifiers, with Netherlands also to face France in another group.
The draw for the qualifiers for UEFA Euro 2024 was held today in Frankfurt, Germany.
The tournament will be held from June 14 to July 14 in 10 German cities, with 24 teams taking part.
There are 10 qualifying groups in all, with the top two in each earning spots in the tournament. The remaining three places with be determined via playoffs.
The champions of the last tournament in 2021, Italy, are up against the team they beat on penalties in the final, England, in Group C, along with Ukraine, North Macedonia and Malta.
Netherlands and world champions France are joined in Group A by Republic of Ireland, Greece and Gibraltar, while Spain are the big side in Group A, where they will face Scotland, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus.
Euro 2016 winners Portugal are in Group J with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Luxembourg, Slovakia and Liechtenstein.
The group fixtures will be played from March 2023 to November 2023, with the playoffs set for March 2024.
