Brendan Rodgers is poised for a tough fixture tomorrow when his Leicester City side visit Goodison Park for a clash that could potentially involve three Nigerian stars.
Leicester City’s return to good form was halted last weekend when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Manchester City, while Everton played 0-0 at Fulham.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is expected to return to Leicester City’s starting line-up after sitting out the defeat to City, but Kelechi Iheanacho will most likely start on the bench.
Their international colleague Alex Iwobi is an ever-present in the Everton team and he should make his 14th consecutive start for the Toffees tomorrow.
Rodgers is banking on Ndidi and his colleagues to stop Iwobi and Everton at a ‘difficult’ Goodison Park.
“It’s always been a difficult place to go, I’m pretty sure it will be exactly the same on Saturday,” Rodgers said during his pre-match press conference.
“You have to go in, defend well and be strong. If we can do that we’ll be in with a great chance of getting a result.
“Certainly, we’re defending much better and giving ourselves a platform in games. We’ve been playing better, and we want to continue with that.”
Everton are 12th in the Premier League table with 14 points, three points and six places above Leicester City.
