NAPOLI president Aurelio De Laurentiis has declared that the club will not be forced to sell Victor Osimhen.

The Super Eagles striker has been in demand across Europe, with the big clubs circling around him, especially Chelsea and Manchester United.

Various prices have been mentioned as what would convince the Serie A leaders to let go of their top scorer, with figures as high as €150 million being speculated.

However, De Laurentiis has affirmed that Napoli are in a strong financial position and so can keep Osimhen and their other top players.

“I can tell you that Osimhen is not for sale,” Di Laurentiis told German publication Bild today.

“Our players are in demand, but I don’t have to sell anyone. We don’t have any debts.”

Osimhen has emerged as one of the most fearsome strikers in Europe this season, registering 16 goals and four assists in 17 Serie A matches to lead Napoli to the top of the table, 14 points clear.

There were reports that some of the European giants made enquiries in January for the 24-year-old, and a bidding war is expected to test Napoli’s resolve in the summer.

The Nigeria international joined Napoli from Lille for €80m in September 2020, after one season with the French club.
