NFF/TINGO FEDERATION CUP: Insurance, Rangers, Wolves, Plateau advance to semi-finals

BENDEL Insurance of Benin City edged out Sunshine Stars of Akure 1-0 and Plateau United defeated Kwara United by the same margin in the quarter-finals of the men’s NFF/TINGO Federation Cup yesterday.

Lobi Stars, who defeated Bendel Insurance Feeders 3-1 in the round of 16, lost 2-1 to Warri Wolves at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode.

Rangers of Enugu saw off Doma United to win their quarter-final 1-0 at the Akure Township Stadium.

All four of Insurance, the only unbeaten side in the abridged 2023 season of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Warri Wolves, Plateau United and Rangers have advanced to the semi-finals of the country’s biggest cup competition.

Insurance will battle Warri Wolves in a clash of sides from the old Bendel State, while Plateau United face off with Rangers for places in the final.

Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels will meet in the women’s final.
