BORUSSIA Dortmund have confirmed the sale of midfielder Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid.
The deal for the 19-year-old is worth €103 million in transfer fee and bonuses, and it is for six years.
Bellingham reportedly agreed the contract in April but the Spanish giants waited until Dortmund had finished their Bundesliga season before moving on to the final stages of the deal.
The England international had been a target for Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Liverpool, who withdrew from the race because of the high cost.
Bellingham joined Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020 and developed into one of Europe’s finest young modifiers, becoming a major feature of the England midfield.
He is the latest young midfielder to team up with Real Madrid in the last two years as they continue to phase out their legendary midfield trio of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Aurélien Tchouaméni, 23, was signed for €80m from Monaco last July, one year after 20-year-old Edouard Camavinga joined for €31m from Rennes.
