SAMUEL Chukwueze could be heading to AC Milan in Italy after an impressive season with Villarreal in Spain.
The Super Eagles forward is believed to have caught the eye of the Italian giants who are looking to bolster their attack after a bittersweet campaign.
Reports in Spain have claimed that Villarreal will look to receive around €40m before letting go of the left-footed forward.
Milan, who were Serie A champions in 2021/2022, finished fourth in the league but reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Italian transfer outlet gianlucadimarzio.com reported last night that Milan are ‘very interested’ in Chukwueze, who was one of Villarreal’s standout players this season.
The Nigeria international was voted the Best African Player in La Liga after registering 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions as Villarreal finished fifth in the Spanish top flight and secured a spot in the UEFA Europa League.
The report added that Milan, who are not the only club interested in Chukwueze, have already made contact with his representatives to indicate their intentions.
Chukwueze, 24, was in the Nigeria squad that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015 along with Victor Osimhen, and he joined Villarreal’s U-19s from Diamond Academy in August 2017 before rising to the first team.
