NIGERIANS on social media have expressed excitement following the posting of a picture of Super Falcons star Michelle Alozie and Afrobeats superstar Davido online.
Alozie, one of Nigeria’s outstanding players at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand which ended over the weekend, shared a picture she took recently with Davido to her over 100,000 Twitter followers which elicited all kinds of reactions, most of them funny and positive.
The Nigeria right-back has returned to her club in the United States of America Women’s Soccer League, Houston Dash, after the tournament, and the photograph, in which she is seen presenting her Super Falcons jersey to Davido, was apparently taken in that country.
In one of the hilarious reactions, LBGamestips wrote “Alozie, please be careful, to give woman belle no dey hard ham”, apparently in reference to the singer’s multiple baby mamas.
Another Twitter user, Unkul_Obi, was more serious, praising the merging of sports and entertainment.
“Wow. This is nice. When stars align we see nice things such as this,” the poster wrote.
Proskilo joked “You are now bigger than Manchester United”, while UnlimitedFelix wrote “Real recognise real”.
There were more reactions jokingly warning Alozie about Davido’s promiscuity, with Lekebiz324 writing “Alozie, abeg o. Olympic dey next year o. I no won hear say u are ‘unavailable'”, apparently playing on Davido’s smash hit ‘Unavailable’ off the ‘Timeless’ album he released at the end of May.
“Momma We Love you. Please we don’t want to miss you next season,” another poster added.
