THE Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, has reserved it’s judgment on the petition submitted by Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.
Cole is contesting Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s victory in the March 18 governorship election.
After the parties adopted their final written addresses and stated their arguments for and against the petition, the three-member tribunal, led by Justice Cletus Emifonye, adjourned the matter for judgment.
Aside from Cole, the immediate past governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, was in court for the proceedings of the day.
He, however, refused to speak with media about the day’s events.
Cole had called over 40 witnesses to back his claim that Fubara was not qualified to run for Rivers State governor at the time of the election.
