THE Super Eagles have a nearly full squad two days ahead of their opening 2026 World Cup qualifying fixture against Lesotho in Uyo.

Nigeria will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in the Akwa Ibom State capital on Thursday before heading off to Kigali, Rwanda for a clash with Zimbabwe on Sunday.

As at this afternoon, there are 22 players at the team’s Four Points by Sheraton camp, made up of two goalkeepers, eight defenders, four midfielders and eight forwards.

Only Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, who was given a late call-up as replacement for Udinese’s Maduka Okoye, is still being expected.

Cyprus-based Francis Uzoho and Enyimba’s Ojo Olorunleke are the goalkeepers in camp, with Kenneth Omeruo leading the defence.

The other defenders in the Super Eagles base in Uyo are Jamilu Collins, Chidozie Awaziem, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemachi and the England-based trio of Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi.

Fulham star Alex Iwobi leads the midfield, along with Brentford’s Frank Onyeka, Southampton’s Joe Aribo and Raphael Onyedika of Club Brugge in Belgium.

The attack, without the injured Italy-based pair of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze, is still stacked.

New invitee Nathan Tella of Bayer Leverkusen is in camp alongside his club mate Victor Boniface and Real Sociedad star Umar Sadiq, as well as regular faces Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Terem Moffi and Ademola Lookman.
