Iheanacho lands in Sevilla, set to sign two-year deal

KELECHI Iheanaco has arrived in Sevilla to complete his switch to the LaLiga club.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria striker left Leicester City at the end of June and will be joining Sevilla as a free agent, with the formalities set to be completed tomorrow.

Sevilla confirmed Iheanacho’s arrival at their facilities tonight with two cheeky posts.

First, they posted a picture on X of the Nigeria international at the airport, apparently in Spain, with the caption ‘Nnoo Kelechi’, welcoming the forward in his native Igbo language.

About half an hour later, Sevilla posted another picture on X, this time with the background indicating that he is on their premises, and captioned it ‘Senior Man is here’, referring his to him by his popular nickname.

Iheanacho is expected to complete his medical examinations tomorrow, after which he will sign a two-year deal, becoming the second Nigerian to join Sevilla this summer after Chidera Ejuke.

Iheanacho, 27, joined Leicester City in August 2017 for around €28m and made 232 appearances, registering 61 goals and 34 assists.

He has played 55 times for the Super Eagles, scoring 15 goals.
