THE Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that power supply has been restored to the 330kV Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri transmission line.
According to Ndidi Mbah, the TCN General Manager of Public Affairs, power supply was fully reinstated between Wednesday and Thursday.
“Power supply was completely restored on the Gombe–Damaturu line at approximately 7:25 PM on the 30th, and for the Damaturu–Maiduguri (Molai) section, supply was restored on October 31, 2024, around 2:01 PM,” she stated in a statement late yesterday.
This restoration follows over a month after tower 372 along the 330kV transmission line was vandalized.
“The damaged tower has been rebuilt, and the stringing of the line was finished on October 23, 2024, at about 12:48 PM,” TCN reported.
However, TCN faced delays in restoring bulk power supply through the line due to the vandalism of the Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line. Nonetheless, power supply along the Gombe–Damaturu–Maiduguri 330kV transmission line is now completely restored.
TCN is once again urging the public to assist in combating vandalism of power installations to protect Nigeria’s electricity future.
Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities around transmission infrastructure to security personnel or TCN offices nationwide.
